· Institutional Overview
As a dispatched agency of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Nanjing Branch coordinates research institutes of CAS in Jiangsu and Jiangxi Provinces. Tracing back to the takeover of former Central Research Institute's units in Nanjing by CAS in 1950, it was formally established in November 1978. The branch system comprises 10 legal research institutions covering fields such as space astronomy, resources & environment, and high technology.

In recent years, it has delivered significant original innovations:
· Data and scientific software of the "Kuafu - 1" satellite were officially released internationally.
· Achievements of the "Yangtze River Delta Regional Ecological Environment Collaborative Management and Comprehensive Governance Demonstration" were listed among China's Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progress in Ecological Environment.
· It developed domestically leading GaN blue - green lasers and the world's first monolithic full - color Micro - LED micro - display chip.
· International Status
As a key component of CAS, the Nanjing Branch's research outcomes attract global attention. Many achievements of its subordinate institutes rank at the international advanced level, playing a vital role in international academic exchanges. Academic journals like Chinese Astronomy and Astrophysics and PEDOSPHERE have entered the SCI source journal list, helping enhance China's international discourse in related fields.
